"AIKIDO, THE BUSINESS"

Esta Página En Español.

YOU MUST DO BETTER THAN JUST KEEPING THE DOORS OPEN!

It is sad to see a talented teacher struggle for years just to pay the rent only to end up closing his school because there just aren't enough students to pay the rent. There are many traditional teachers who simply don't have the business acumen to operate a school in these competitive times.

Aikido is not a competitive art. But business is. In order to offer traditional training, we have to be able to pay the rent and be seen by potential students. All of the technical ability in the world will not guarantee that the prospective student will come to us. And, if they do, they probably won't know what they have found. The sad truth is that they will expect to be taught for free and will not hesitate to tell you that it is your privilege to teach them - for free.

Traditional teaching is not dead! But, you must be able to make people see the value of what you teach. And, in these times, the teachings of Aikido, and the martial arts in general, are sorely needed. This requires a knowledge and command of certain simple business concepts.      For this reason, Seikikai is now making available the techniques of business structure and advertizing that have worked so well for us. Following is a list of the areas to be covered in our business seminar. This is the same information that we give to our instructors, so we know that it works.

GENERAL AREAS OF BUSINESS COMPETENCE

  • HOW DO I GET STUDENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE?
  • HOW DO I RETAIN MY STUDENTS?
  • WHAT ABOUT CONTRACTS?
  • WHAT ARE THE ETHICS OF TEACHING?
  • HOW DO I CONTINUE MY OWN EDUCATION?
  • LOCATION?
  • ADVERTIZING
  • MEMBERSHIPS AND REFERRALS

The information in this seminar is the same information we teach to our own instructors and to the schools that associate with Seikikai. Yes, we do accept clubs and independent schools.

Many schools that have no formal affiliation find that becoming associated with Seikikai can offer significant benefits. Benefits such as:

  • Instructor Training
  • Professional Guidance for School Operation
  • Direct Association With a Japanese School with Direct Ties to the Founder
  • Rank Verification
  • Professional Seminars

Inquire about associating with us. Our requirements are exacting - but, isn't that what you are looking for?
