Children's classes are an important part of the curriculum at all Seikikai locations. Kurita Sensei teaches children at his own location in Japan as well as at the American School in Tokyo.

In conformity with Kurita Sensei's classes in Japan, children's classes are available at all Seikikai locations in the U.S. And, the classes are usually taught by the Chief Instructor of each dojo. The teaching of children is much too important to be left to an amateur.

Children are taught self defense technique at all locations. However, emphasis is not placed on fighting. Children (as well as adults) are taught positive skills for dealing ' with other people as well as self control techniques. Discipline and respect for others as well as respect for parents and teachers is stressed.

Additionally, school work and personal improvement are required for advancement in the art of Aikido. Each student must maintain a "B" average (or its equivalent) in order to fulfill the requirements for advancement in Aikido.

Many extracurricular activities as well as parties and outings are also offered. Parent participation is encouraged in all areas of Aikido instruction.
